Here is a picture of some of the 16 baby ducklings that one of our mama ducks recently had. Another duck is sitting on eggs right now. Perdie, our dog, would like to be their mother and keeps herding them. Perdie won't let the adult ducks eat out of her dog dish, but she lets the babies.

This was Tinana's first trail ride where she was totally in charge of her own horse (actually, she was riding Frances the mule). Tinana is five years old. Lindsey Cottrell was passing out school notebooks, pens, and pencils to children for school as we traveled along.

Some Haitian boys make trucks from cans and scrap lumber. The wheels are made from flip flops that are broken. They have a great suspension system, but are dangerous because of the sharp edges. Sam bought two of them from some enterprising young neighbors, shown holding the trucks they made.

There are some frogs in Haiti that are poisonous, so most Haitians fear all frogs and toads. You would never see a Haitian child with a frog in his pocket.

This is a rosy boa that was in a tree in our yard. He was huge! Sam fed him a rat he had caught in a trap. You can see the rat in his mouth as he's trying to swallow it.
